I only have so many hours before I go to a night shift. I work six days this week, and my goal is to organize my time so that I can 1) work on job search 2) keep up house work at new place 3) keep up new healthy lifestyle and 4) make time for my busy social schedule.
Right now, at 2 pm, I'm slightly freakazoidal in an unbeneficial way. I am looking for quick fix lunch solutions...skipping yoga (to clean house) and really desiring another cup of coffee and some of that super-yummy-ultra-bad-for-me ice cream that Chris bought.
I'm now thinking of What about Bob baby steps and wondering... is this really funny? or kind of sad.
I suppose I should focus on the positive. I've stuck to something for two weeks now and I'm pretty sure I've truly lost 5lbs in a long term healthy way.
I wonder if I could some how block out the soul sucking aspect of my low paying job....

a little bs
oh Britney Spears
Her crazy antics are what everybody is talking about. Even my pops probably knows the ins & outs of the story.
and now, I'm going to continue on....and talk about it myself.
It seems like it's time for her to take a few steps out of the spotlight and spend some time with her family. Maybe do some crazy secret trip to a remote location and relax a little.
She's been a star since she was a little girl, maybe truly being out of the spotlight isn't something she can comprehend.
It's an odd circumstance. Like her wigs. Everyone knows she shaved her head, why doesn't she just show off a chic short hairdo?
Also, she's totally not fat.
and that's all I'd like to say.

words mightier than the machete
I just finished Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones. I usually like to fully absorb books (movies, albums, et cetera) before I give them the official thumbs up or down. This is the case unless something sticks out right away and I give the yay or nay.
I liked Mister Pip before I picked it up. I am not afraid to say.... I judge books by their covers. This one was good. I also liked the reviews and the fact that it was up for the man booker.
Mister Pip takes place on an island near Australia, in the middle of a mine related conflict. It is told in the voice of an endearing young teen named Matilda (love-Roald Dahl). The conflict causes most of the white emigrants to leave, except for one man they call Pop Eye.
Pop Eye steps into the role of Mr. Watts, a make shift teacher for the kids. The only thing Mr. Watts knows how to teach is Dickens' Great Expectations (one of my faves). Great Expectations gives the kids a joyous new world and the island a bundle of controversy.
There were only a couple of things that I didn't like in the story. I was shocked by a little bit o' gore and disappointed when it reminded me of Life of Pi (which shouldn't be such a shocker considering the fact that it won the booker in 2002).
Along with some smarty pants themes, Jones braids a good one with heart full moments that both warm and wrench.
My rating...

Three and a half Mr. Bookman's out of Five.
